The LG V30 uses glass lens for its rear cameras instead of plastic ones that are found in almost all phone cameras. This is the same material used in interchangeable lenses for DSLR cameras. LG calls it "Crystal Clear Lens" and it's just a marketing way to promote its glass-made camera lens. The...

OIS (for the standard-angle camera)

The LG V30 features an optical image stabilization system that helps improve the low-light performance of its standard-angle camera and supporting more stable video recording.

Now this is a big advantage that the LG V30 has over its competitors, it's standard-angle lens features a staggering F1.6 aperture lens. Usually when a new smartphone is out you don't see it featured on many photography websites, but the V30 got the attention of all those website. Steve's Digicams,...

The LG V30 comes with rear dual cameras. It's the same type of setup as the LG G6, one camera is a regular 71-degree standard-angle lens and a second camera with a 120-degree ultra wide-angle lens. It's basically a wide-angle and an ultra wide-angle lens as both cameras capture a wide field of view,...

Disappointing front camera

The LG V30 comes with a very disappointing front camera, featuring only 5MP resolution (although not a big problem for me), but the aperture (f.2.2) is slower than the competition. Not a convincing setup for a high-end Android phone.

1-micron pixels (standard-angle camera)

I was quite disappointed to read that the standard-angle camera, the 16MP one features a 1-micron pixel size based sensor. The main reason is the 16MP resolution, and it was nice if the phone came with a lower resolution and had larger pixels.

Expandable storage using microSD card

It's great to have the option to just slide in a microSD card and get lots more space and the LG V30 comes with a microSD card slot, so you can do just that, thanks LG!

Plenty of RAM

The LG V30 comes with plenty of RAM, 4GB to be exact. Maybe it's not boasted with 6GB or 8GB, but I have not doubt that multi-tasking and games will runs super fluent thanks to its speedy SD835 processor. I'm sure if there was a need for more, LG would have put more.

The LG V30 features 4GB of RAM, plenty of supporting all its advanced multi-tasking and 3D graphics capabilities, as expected from a premium device.

No IR Blaster

Such a shame that LG didn't include an IR Blaster with the V30. I use that feature when one of my remote control breaks. You can't use the V30 to controller other non-smart home appliances.

Excellent outdoor visibility

The LG V30 display has an excellent outdoor visibility due to its very bright POLED display. Android Authority reported 606 nits when setting the brightness manually and foes even higher in auto mode. Not as high as the G6 display, but certainly high.

When it comes to design, I think the LG V30 is one of the more beautiful stylish Android smartphones out there. It is so 2017 with its stunning edge-to-edge display, gorgeously looking metal back, smooth and streamed curved edges and sophisticated look. It's not that it's innovating when it comes to...

Slim phone design

The LG V30 is only 7.3mm thick, ultra slim considering all the tech with in it and its large display. That being said, I think that if LG made it a thicker, we would have got an even better battery.

The LG V30 enjoys a high degree of protection thanks to its IP68 water and dust resistance. This means that is perfectly sealed from dust and can be submerged in water in up to 1.5 meters for as long as 30 minutes.

Minimal bezels

The LG V30 features ultra slim side and top and bottom bezels. The entire front is mostly consumed by the gorgeous P-OLED curved edge display, like the Galaxy S8. It's certainly not bezeless like the Mi Mix, but still stunningly looking front side.

Doesn't come with Android Oreo out of the box

The LG V30 is out but so does Android Oreo just a few days ago. It's a bummer that it doesn't come with Android Oreo out of the box. I hope it gets it soon. It's a great OS that improves in usability, security and many other aspects.

Does the LG V30 has a removable battery you ask? The short answer is no, the V30 doesn't have a removable battery option. I am personally quite disappointed that the LG V30 doesn't come with a removable battery, which is unlike the V20 that comes with a removable battery option. Some calls it a...

Disappointing battery capacity

I'm very disappointed with the battery capacity, I mean 3300mAh for a 6-inch screen is bad. I know that the processor is very power efficient, but LG could have used the extra space for a larger battery, no one say no to more power, especially on a heavy multimedia oriented device.
