I've just came back after Even Blass posted what is allegedly the press images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phablet. I also spent a bit of time reading the comments in the twitter feed, and I was surprised that some people don't like the rear design. Many of them liked how it looks from the front, but didn't like the back. I personally found the design to be stunning, both the front and the rear.

First of all, you can see that it's a slim device and this is due the wide 18.5:9 aspect ratio screen. The Note8 features an edge-to-edge screen with very slim top and bottom bezels. The Note8 has a curved screen which blends beautifully with the frame of the phone. The slim and curved design allows comfortable one-hand use and give the phone a really elegant and seductive look.

At the back you have the dual-camera with the fingerprint read and the LED flash. I agree with people about the position of the fingerprint sensor, it's really bad and it doesn't add to what looks like a really beautifully designed phone. Other than that, I think that the back looks sleek and sophisticated. If I had to choose a color, I would probably go with the black, because it looks sleeker than the golden once.

So overall, a +1 point for me for the Note8 design, I really like how it looks overall.

importance ranking: #2 in the 'Design' category and #5 among all categories for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 device
