I was quite surprised to hear that the new iPad Pro 10.5-inch features the same rear-facing camera system as the iPhone 7 which is one of the best mobile phone cameras in 2016. You don't need to compromise anymore when using your iPad outdoors. You can enjoy the same superb image and video quality on your iPad. This is a 12MP f/1.8 aperture lens camera, featuring an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), six-element lens for superb optical performance, a Quad-LED True Tone Flash, Wide Color capture and also 4K video recording as well (the iPad 9.7-inch also has 4K capability).
I am currently visiting Porto in Portugal. I've seen so many people using their iPad instead of a phone to take pictures. I probably wouldn't do it myself because I found carrying an iPad a bit cumbersome compared to carrying an iPhone which is much smaller. However, there are some advantages to that. When you take pictures with an iPad Pro 10.5-inch, you can easily frame the picture because things look much larger. It's not just framing more-or-less and hope for the best. You can also see if the image that you have taken is in focus or not by checking the sharpness without needing to preview it or zooming in. It's a completely different photography experience when you shoot with such a larger display, or maybe it's better to say a viewfinder. This is just the best viewfinder you get with any other camera on earth. Well, unless you go completely pro and use equipment that stream the image to a large external monitor, but come on, we are talking about casual photography here for most part at least.
The Optical Image Stabilization ensures sharp images even when shooting in low-light situations. I personally really like the fact that editing your photos and videos are so easy on iOS and there are obviously endless apps for you to download (most are free) and use to make your images and videos look how they want them to look. Sharing is obviously native to all mobile devices, so you got everything in there to just enjoy photography and all the great things that come with it.
Content owners will also love the new iPad Pro 10.5-inch because they can shoot great videos, edit them and upload them to YouTube OTG. The iPad Pro 10.5-inch hosts all the power needed to make sure all these tasks are fun, easy and fast to do. You have no longer need to make a compromise on photography capabilities when peaking up a tablet for outdoor or indoor shooting.
The iPhone 7 camera scored 86 on DxOMark. It sits alongside the LG G5, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge in the fifth place in DxOMark mobile rating leaderboard (as of 6/6/2017). For those of you who are more tech-savvy, this camera has a 28mm equivalent focal length, a 1/3" image sensor and 1.22-micron pixel size. It can capture RAW image, HDR, burst and Panorama images. The main downside is that the iPad also lacks a microSD card slot, like all of its Apple's iPad and iPhone devices, but overall a superb camera.
