I don't agree with some of the cons written about the Xiaomi Redmi 4A camera in the camera category. Just take a look at these camera samples taken by Bikram Rai on miui.com forums. Those shots, according to the photographer, taken with the default camera app at high saturation with normal sharpness...

Pictures from the rear camera showcase nice natural colors

I like the Xiaomi Redmi 4A primary camera's color reproduction. I've seen some camera samples and the colors look really natural, not oversaturated, just right.

Today I took some time to analyze many camera samples taken with the Xiaomi Redmi 4A to see how it performs in daylight or in good lighting conditions. I didn't like the low-light performance, so I wanted to see how well it performs in daylight. I can start by saying that the image quality is just...

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A rear camera takes noisy images. I've checked out the sample images taken by gadgets.ndtv.com website and I was quite disappointed to see sho much noise in mid-tones and dark areas in the image. You can check out the image with the bridge and just look at the details underneath...

Expandable storage using micro SD card

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A storage is expandable using a micro SD card (128GB supported). This is great if you find the 16GB internal storage space quite limited for your uses. You can take more pictures, record more videos and install more apps and games.

No fingerprint sensor

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A lacks a fingerprint sensor, which is understandable considering its price, but this is a great feature to have. It enhanced security and allows easy unlocking of the phone.

No fingerprint reader

The phone lacks a fingerprint scanner, which is a very handy feature that enhances the device's security and also gives you a convenient way to unlock your phone without entering a passcode, just putting your finger on the scanner and that's it.

Available in different color variations

It's nice to see that the Redmi 4A comes with three different colors variations: Gold, Dark Grey and Rose Gold. You can choose the colors that you like best and one that best fits your personal taste.

Boring design

There is nothing excited about the design of the Xiaomo Redmi 4A. Is as simple and uninspiring it can get. I also don't like the grill holes at the back, which makes it quite ugly to be honest.

Plastic build

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a polycarbonate build, not quite compared to the more premium build of the Redmi 3S phone.

Low speaker audio quality

As noted by gizmodo.in, the speaker of this phone is really bad, or as the reviewer said "utter rubbish". So if you need a good speaker, you probably should look elsewhere.

Doubles as a remote controller (IR Blaster)

The Redmi 4A comes with an infrared transmitter, which means you can use this phone as a remote controller to control various home devices, like your TV, air-conditioner, stereo receiver, etc.

Infrared remote, control home appliances using one device

The Redmi 4A phones doubles as an infrared remote controller. Use it to control your home appliances, like your TV, air conditioners, speakers, and more. It's a very handy feature to have if you already use remote controllers at home.

Hybrid device, can't have two SIMs and a memory card at the same time

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is a hybrid device, which means you can either use two SIM cards at a time or if you want to expand the memory using a microSD card, you need to give up on one SIM card space. It was better to have a dedicated memory card slot.

The Redmi 4A can be used as a host to charge other device through its microUSB 2.0 connector, or in other words, use it like a Power Bank.

High battery capacity (3120mAh)

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a good battery capacity in relation to its screen size. I've seen 5.5" phones with 2600mAh, so it's nice to see that Xiaomi embedded a powerful battery in this phone, we can play more games, talk more and do more with our phone.

Cons

No fast charging option

The Redmi 4A doesn't support fast charging, only the standard 1A 5W charger, so charging the battery is slow. The good news is that the battery life is excellent, so you'll need to charge it less frequently.

Very affordable price, good value

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a very affordable price tag of 5,999 INR, which is approximately $92 (as of the time of writing). Very tempting price considering it's large screen, 2GB RAM, high-res camera and large battery.

Lenovo K6, better features for a slightly higher price

For 1000 INR (Rs. 6,999 expected price) more you can get the Lenovo K6 which also has a 5.0" screen but with Full HD resolution instead of HD. It also comes with fingerprint sensor and better Snapdragon 430 processor.
