The LG G6 comes with some interesting battery saving options. There are three options available from what I've seen in the recap trailer shown in the LG G6 launch event in MWC2017. There is a "Base optimization", which allows you to adjust the video resolution to save battery power. There is the "Full optimization" feature which allows you to adjust the video resolution and frame rate to save your battery and there is an option called "Optimization by game", which allows you to adjust the video resolution and frame rate for each game separately to save your battery. In this mode full optimization is used by default.
I think it's a great set of options that further helps to help user improve the battery life, allowing them to even play games while still maintaining low power consumption. You all know that games drains the battery really quickly because the GPU and CPU work non stop to accelerate the 3D content that is drawn on the screen. Furthermore, when you play the game, the screen is active at all time. This features just allows you to play even more but at the cost of lesser resolution and frame rate. I really want to try it in practice to see how long it prolongs the battery life, but certainly a welcomed feature, especially for hardware gamers.
