Doesn't support 4K video recording

The Micromax Bharat 5 Plus can only shoot videos at 1080p Full HD image resolution not 4K. If you have a 4K HDTV at home and thinking of capturing 4K videos with your phone, you need to look elsewhere.

Expandable storage using microSD

The Micromax Bharat 5 Plus comes with only 16GB of RAM, but the good news is that you can expand the storage using a microSD card. The phone supports memory cards up to 64GB, which is also limited, but better than nothing.

Low amount of RAM (2GB)

The Bharat 5 Plus has low amount of RAM. It's good for running basic apps and single app at a time, but don't expect any good multi-tasking performance. There are some apps that requires a lot of RAM, so if you open lots of apps, you might notices significant lag or app crashing.

Poor-performing quad-core processor

Nothing interesting to report here. The Micromax Bharat 5 Plus comes with Mediatek MT6737 Quad-core 1.3GHz SoC, which is good for basic use so don't expect it to run those latest high-demanding 3D games, it wasn't designed for it.

Large display

The Bharat 5 Plus features a 5.2-inch display. Having a large display allows you to better enjoy viewing content on the screen, like for watching videos, browsing Internet pages, viewing pictures, reading text and just about everything, so a big screen is a good advantage.

Comes with Android 7.0, not 8.0

The Micromax Bharat 5 Plus doesn't come with the latest version of Android 8.0, but with the older version, 7.0. This means that users will have to wait for a future update to be able to upgrade to 8.0, and who knows when or if at all this update will come.

The Micromax Bharat 5 Plus features a 5000 mAh battery which not just provides the phone with lots of power, but has OTG support, so it doubles as a powerbank for all your electronic needs. If you go to the store and search for a powerbank to charge your phone, you are likely to get one of those...

Impressive battery capacity

Probably one of the main advantages of the Bharat 5 Plus is it's 5000 mAh high-capacity battery. Although keep in mind that the SoC is manufactured in a 28 nm process so it's not not super power efficient like the latest chipsets with smaller cores.

Very cheap phone

The Bharat 5 Plus prices at Rs. 5,555 (~$87 as of the time of writing). This is a low-cost phone that can serve as a good second phone for travelers due to its very large battery.
