Finally Google has decided to has an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to its Google Pixel phones. Now you can enjoy much better photos in low light and better stabilization for videos. The optical image stabilization can help the camera take better photos in low light as it stabilizes the camera and therefore allows the camera to shoot at slower shutter speed.
I don't know how much stops advantage the OIS has, but expect around 2-3 stops, and I would be really surprise if it passes this.
Even when shooting using manual mode, you can adjust the shutter speed lower than what you would have done otherwise and you will still be able to achieve sharp images.
Regarding videos, the OIS does help in videos, but we've seen that the EIS can do a much better job. Google Pixel 2 features both EIS and OIS and can even use them at together to produce some very stable results.
All in all, great to see OIS coming to the Pixel phone.
